Gary O. Tangen

Gary O. Tangen, 74, of Hermantown, passed away peacefully on Sunday Feb. 8, 2026, at home. He was born in Duluth on June 4, 1951, to Orland and Evelyn Tangen. Gary graduated from Duluth Central High School, La Salle University Business School, received his Bachelor of Arts from Concordia College, and became a Certified Financial Planner. He retired from US Bank as Senior VP and managing director of the Trust Department. Gary married Teresa Nordmark in Duluth, MN on September 16, 1981. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Harbortown Rotary Club 25, and he had served as a board member on several boards, most recently the First United Methodist Church Foundation Board, Greater Denfeld Foundation Board, and was the Trustee of the United Way of Greater Duluth Trust.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, his sister and her husband Claudia (James) Thoreson and nephew, Brian Thoreson.

Gary is survived by his wife Teresa, daughter Amanda (Andrew) Conley, grandsons Wyatt and Owen Conley, sister Cindy Seguin, niece Shelley (Joe) Scott and nephews, Randy Seguin and Steven (Mindy) Seguin.

A Memorial Service for Gary will be held at First United Methodist Church, 230 East Skyline Parkway on Monday February 16, 2026, at 1PM.
