Gary Steven Thompson

Gary Steven Thompson, age 75, passed away on December 12, 2025. He was born on August 19, 1950, and lived a life rooted in faith, family, and hard work.

Gary was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carol Thompson; his parents, Helen Thompson and J.D. Thompson; and his sister, Dorthy Harmon.

He is survived by his brother, Billy Thompson; sisters, Stephanie Waddell and Jeamie Thompson; his daughters, Angie Williford, Stacey O'Daniel, and Shellie Stevison; and his sons, Jason Thompson and Eric Thompson. Gary was a proud grandfather to Savannah Edwards, Catie Bartolameolli, Brittany Barker, Zach Neely, Dakota O'Daniel, Hunter Thompson, Logan Thompson, Damon Thompson, and Tyler Thompson, and a loving great-grandfather to 13 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him great joy.

A man of strong faith, Gary loved God deeply and cherished time spent with his family. He took pride in his work as a truck driver and found great enjoyment in working on cars, always keeping busy with his hands and heart. Gary will be remembered for his dedication, his steady presence, and the love he shared with those around him.

A memorial service will be held at Companion Funeral Home - Cleveland Chapel. Visitation will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., followed by the service at 7:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Sammy Hooker.

Gary Steven Thompson will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
