Gary Venus Obituary
He was born April 22, 1942 in Akron, the son of the late Oval and Cecil (Schuman) Venus.
Gary retired after 38 years from Goodyear Aerospace where he was a lab technician.
He was a member of Newman Baptist Church, a former member of Tuslaw Lions Club, and a little league coach for many years. Gary enjoyed golfing and boating.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Junnett Venus; children, Bryan (Angela) Venus, Chad Venus; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one on the way; sister, Shirley (Gary) Griffiths; and daughter-in-law, Sunida Venus.
He was preceded in death by his son, Curt Venus and sister, Thelma Brynn.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at Heitger Funeral Home – Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave NW, Massillon from 5 PM to 7 PM and on Thursday, July 3, at Newman Baptist Church, 11155 Orrville St NW, Massillon, OH 44647 from 10 AM to 11 AM with a funeral service to follow at 11 AM with Rev. Jeff Kilgore officiating.
Burial to follow the service at Newman Cemetery in Massillon.
