Gary Allen Wagner

1952 - 2023

Gary Allen Wagner, 71 of Billings, Montana passed away on July 19,2023 at home
with family by his side from his private battle with Liver Cancer.
Gary was born on June 28, 1952, in Hardin, Montana to John and Ruth Wagner.
He graduated from West High School and attended 1 year of College in Kalispell,
Montana, studying forestry, until he was drafted into the United States Army in
1972. Serving active duty until 1974, he spent the remainder of his enlistment in
the National Guard Reserves, ending in 1978 with an honorable discharge. He was
awarded the National Defense Service Medal – Expert 45 Cal, Sharpshooter M16,
Expert M79.
To feed his family he became a certified welder working for Anderson Steel at the
time where he met and then married Cynthia "Cindy" Corback, August 1, 1982.
Never one to sit still for long, he changed paths and started working in the
construction industry installing commercial doors for a couple different
companies. Around 1993 Gary began his career working for Dale and Jax Door &
Glass until retiring in 2018.
Gary worked hard and played harder. In his younger days he spent his free time
riding his Harley with his friends and they started The Roaddogs.
In his later years, he remodeled the home he and Cindy raised Lee and John in,
making it their "cabin in the woods." He loved cooking, fishing, camping, hunting,
pretty much anything outdoors, his dogs and his family.
Gary was preceded in death by his wife, Cindy in 2019, his parents John and Ruth,
brothers Al, Jack, Ken, and Tim, sister Betty Lind. He is survived by his sister Pat
Wilkins and brother Roger (Tammy) Wagner, Sons; Lee (Cheryl) Wagner, John
Wagner, grandsons Tyler & Kyle Wagner, Jordon Hughes, grand-daughter Audry
Wagner, family friend, Christine Oviatt, Khloe Bear his faithful pup, and numerous
nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. A joint celebration of both his and Cindy's life will take
place Sunday, October 1, 2023, at the Rhoadside Event Center, from 1-4 PM.
