Gary John Walters

Gary John Walters, Peshtigo, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 16, 2023 after a brief illness.
Gary married his high school sweetheart, Jodyn Voelker on June 26, 1965. They had almost 51 years together before she passed in 2016.
Gary loved being outside, hunting, fishing, gardening, and growing beautiful flowers. He was passionate about guns and ammo and made many friends at his gun shows. Gary especially loved his family and his kitties. He worked at Badger Paper Mill for 40-1/2 years.
Gary is survived by, his children, Brett (Brigid Molony) Walters, Holly (Steven) Wiesler, Robin (Scott) VandeHei, and Trisha (Rob) Connolly; His grandchildren, Meagen (Mark Haley) Schievink, Stephanie (Zach) Holt, Kayla Walters, Danielle (Nathan Nickel) Walters, Savannah (Dakota) Johnson, Henry Molony Walters, Sean Molony, Maija (Chris Appleby) Birzgalis, Spencer (Jelena Stevelik) Birzgalis, Kassidy (Noah Pepin) Birzgalis, Emily (Zac) Lowis, and Hannah VandeHei; Great-grandchildren, Bryce, Jadyse, and Kael Schievink, Benjamin Walters-Gokey, Serenity Schwartzenberger, Landyn and Mason Brooks, Willow Johnson, Max Frydrych, Oliver Semrau, Sawyer and Jonah Lowis.
He is further survived by, his siblings, Judy (Rich) Podraza, Darlene (Dick) Behnke and Rick (Barb) Walters; also Jody's siblings, Lorna Converse, Al (Marge) Voelker, Linda Voelker, Dick (Cheryl) Voelker and Wayne (Mary) Voelker; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, Jody, Gary was preceded in death by, his parents John and Irene Walters; his in-laws, George and Gertrude Voelker; brothers-in-law, Gene, Hank, Jay and Verlon Voelker and Jim Converse; sisters-in-law, Lora and Margie Voelker; nephew, Mike Voelker and niece, Desiree Walters.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 20, at Berth & Rosenthal Funeral Home from 2:00 to time of services at 4:00 pm with Father John Harper officiating. Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery.
Special thank you to Dr. Rick, Dr. Kaytee, and Jo at Peshtigo Veterinary Services for all their help, love and support given to Dad and his kitties over the years. Also thank you to the ICU staff at Aurora BAMC for their kind and compassionate care
