Gary William Weber, age 83, of Lake Ozark, Missouri, passed away on June 22, 2025. He was born on February 22, 1942, in St. Louis, Missouri, to William and Mildred Weber (née Longhibler). Throughout his life, Gary was known for his unwavering work ethic, sarcastic wit, and a spirited sense of humor that endeared him to all who knew him.
He attended Mehlville High School in Missouri and later graduated from Highland Park High School in Kansas. He owned and operated Sundance Resort in Lake Ozark, Missouri, for several decades and served as Alderman, in ward 3 from April 1996 to June 1997 and Mayor of Lake Ozark from June 1997 to April 2001 and again from April 2003 to April 2005.
Gary didn't just love his family; he lived for them. His children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were his greatest joy, his favorite audience, and occasional wrestling opponents. Whether he was towing kids behind the boat, initiating splash wars, or taking a grandkid on a birthday shopping spree for whatever toy, game, or glittery nightmare they desired, he was all in.
He was a card shark, and if you played against him, you probably lost. Gary was the catalyst of family sarcasm and had an adventurous spirit that refused to age. From white-water rafting to ziplining and indoor skydiving, he proved that growing older didn't mean slowing down. He had a heart of gold and was always ready to help fix things, build whatever needed building, or sort out any electrical mess you could throw at him.
Gary leaves behind his children Kim Kopchik (Joseph), Kelly Cooper, and Jason Weber; his grandchildren Nicki Jones (Chad), Brandi Kaden, and Lily June Weber; his great-grandchildren Aubrey Kaden and Jayce Grant; as well as cousins and numerous friends.
He is now reunited with his parents, William and Mildred (née Longhibler) Weber; his aunt, Ruth Weber; and his brothers, Dean and Chris Weber, all of whom are likely bracing for his arrival and dusting off a deck of cards.
Graveside services will be held at Sunset Memorial Park, 10180 Gravois Rd, St. Louis, MO 63123, on July 22, 2025, at 10:00 am. Please meet at the East entrance (not the main entrance) between 9:45 and 10:00 am. A brunch reception will follow the service.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hedges-Scott-Millard Funeral Homes. Condolences (and stories of Gary's unforgettable antics) may be left at www.hedgesscottmillard.com .
