Gary David Whisman, born on May 6, 1960, in Packwood, Washington, passed peacefully in his sleep on March 23, 2025, in Seattle, Washington. He was a beloved figure whose presence in the lives of his family and friends will be deeply missed.
Gary was known for his kindness, humor, and honesty, qualities that endeared him to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His sense of style complemented his outgoing personality, and those who encountered him were often greeted by his warm smile and genuine laughter. An intellectually curious person, Gary had a passion for Scifi cinema and music, and he recently discovered a love for art that enriched his life further. He cherished nature and found joy in the simple pleasures of visiting family and friends, as well as caring for his beloved pet fish.
As a father and grandfather, his proudest accomplishments resided in the love he had for his children and grandchild. He is survived by his daughter, Charlene Whisman, who carries forward his spirit through her endeavors. Additionally, he is remembered fondly by his sister, Diane Jensen, and his nieces, Shauna and Angie Lowther, along with his cousin, Barbara Whisman. Each of them holds memories of Gary that reflect the profound impact he had on their lives.
Gary now joins his late family members: his sister, Serena (Whisman) Cameron; his father, Kenneth Whisman; and his mother, Shirley (Sundmark) Whisman. Their reunion brings solace amidst the sadness of his passing.
The legacy of Gary David Whisman will live on in the hearts of those who loved him for his authenticity, humor, and the gentle inspiration he instilled in everyone around him. He leaves behind a tapestry of cherished memories that will forever resonate within his family and friends.
