Gary W. Whitman

Gary W. Whitman, 67, of Palmer Township, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2026, in St. Luke's Hospital-Easton Campus.

Born January 24, 1959, in Easton, PA, he was the son of Russell Whitman, Jr. and Rose Marie (Chisesi) Whitman.

He and his partner, Jacqueline L. Castronova, were together for fifteen years.

Gary attended Easton Area High School.

He was employed as a custodian with the Easton Area School District for twenty-two years. Previously, he worked for Victaulic and Avante.

Gary loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed going out to eat, watching movies, and cruising with his partner Jackie in their Corvette. He also enjoyed playing with dogs, and sunbathing. He was an avid New York Yankees and Philadelphia Eagles fan.

He was a member of Safety First Volunteer Fire Company, Lester W. Pfeffer American Legion Post 611, Citizens Hose Company, and Palmer Volunteer Fire Company #2.

In addition to his partner, Jackie, he is survived by two sons, Nicholas J. Whitman, and Edward W. Whitman and his wife Dana, both of Palmer Township; six grandchildren, Kaylee, Kaycee, Torren, Ethan, Mason and Austin; three brothers, Edward Whitman and his wife Sue, of Myrtle Beach, SC, William Whitman and his wife Patricia, of Palmer Township, and Russell Whitman III and his wife Melissa, of Nazareth; nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 2pm Friday, January 30th, in the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., 2101 Northampton Street, Wilson Borough. Call Friday 1-2pm in the funeral home. Interment will be private. Offer online condolences at www.strunkfh.com.
