Mr. Gary James Wilkes passed away Tuesday evening, June 3rd, 2025, at the age of 54.
A native of Chesterfield County, Mr. Wilkes was a son of the late Willie & Shirley Outlaw Wilkes. Gary enjoyed spending time outdoors, working in the yards and on tractors. Although he loved his family in general, HIS GREATEST LOVE OF ALL WAS HIS GRANDCHILDREN.
Surviving is his wife, Lisa Wilkes; children, Chris (Taylor) Block and Gregg (Holly) Block; siblings, Lee Wilkes and Kimberly Grooms; grandchildren: Brantley Block, Banner Block, Barron Block, Dagon Block, Logan Block, Sophia Hayes, and Willow Block; nieces, Savannah Grooms and Dixie Grooms; special friend, Tony Atkinson; and his beloved dog, Mr. Wilson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Larry Wilkes, Willie Jean Winburn, Patsy Lewis, and James Lee Wilkes; brother-in-law, Buddy Grooms; and a niece, Tiffany Grooms.
Gary’s memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 on Saturday morning, June 7th, 2025, from the Chapel of Norton Funeral Home with Reverend Pete Wilkes officiating. The family will speak with friends following the service.
