CUYAHOGA FALLS - Gary E. Williams, 77, passed away on October 22, 2025.
Born in Akron and raised in Stow, Gary spent his life as a proud resident of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard aboard the WAGHB-83 Cutter Mackinaw from 1967 to 1971, where he worked on the ship’s engines.
Gary’s career as a welder began at Central Welding, continued at Nervo Coggins and concluded with his retirement from Ohio CAT in 2017. He was known for his expertise with motors and his willingness to share his knowledge with others.
Beyond his work, Gary’s true passion was for muscle cars and racing. He enjoyed building Junior Dragsters, riding dirt bikes and having fun with his pipe buggy. Whether he was working on an engine or talking about cars, Gary’s enthusiasm was infectious, and he was always ready to lend a hand or offer advice.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Willa Williams, and his sister, Sue Testa. He is survived by his devoted wife, Joyce Williams; daughters, Regina (Jerry) Gordon and Taffy (Mike) Congrove, and grandchildren, Alexander (Destiny), Joseph (Dani), Haley, and Mikel (Zack).
Gary will be remembered for his kindness, his mechanical skill and his love for family and friends.
