Gary was on the team of North Hills administrators that hired me to be a Librarian and GATE teacher. He asked the final question in my interview and when I gave an answer he really liked, he laughed and said, "BINGO!" I really admired Gary. He was a very sweet, kind, caring person and principal. He was a HUGE advocate for the libraries and children's literature. I always loved working on committees or projects with him because he was a positive and productive leader. Gary made a big impact on the world beyond our knowing because he helped and inspired many children and adults. I feel lucky to have known him. My deepest sympathy to his family.

Mr. Winkler was my principal at Seville Elementary! Fun, loving guy! Always kind and happy. I will NEVER forget when he came dressed as a ballerina for Halloween-tutu and all! My sincere condolences for all who knew and loved him!
