Gary L. Wright

Gary Lynn Wright, 57 of Fairbury, NE, passed away March 13th 2022. Gary was born in Amarillo, Texas, the son of Jimmie L and Carol Harvey. He attended Bullard Public Schools and graduated from Bullard High School in 1983. In 1985 he enlisted in the United States Air Force. Gary was an Aircraft Armament Control Specialist achieving the rank of Sergeant. While stationed at Edwards Air Force Base in California, Gary married Ronda R McAtee, with step children Keicia and Scott McAtee, in April of 1989 in Lancaster California. Born of this union, was daughter Kaislynn Elizabeth.
Shortly after his divorce in 1993 from Ronda, he left the Air Force with the early out program and received an honorable discharge. He then became a Longhaul Truck Driver for 9 years. In 2002 Gary reconnected with Ronda and daughter Kaislynn and relocated to Nebraska in 2003. During this time he worked as a security guard at the Tecumseh State Prison and at Tetra Micronutrients. After a back injury he received his disability and retirement.
He is survived by his parents Jim & Carol Harvey, brother Larry Wright (Janelle), significant other Ronda Rasmussen, daughter Kaislynn Rasmussen (Laura), step children Keicia Nicholson (Eric), Scott McAtee (Amber), Darien Rasmussen, grandchildren Traislynn Nicholson, Hailie Nicholson, Kenzie McAtee, Kaia McAtee, aunts, cousins and niece.
A celebration of Gary's life will be held at Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home, 2414 H Street, Fairbury, NE on Friday, March 18th at 1:30pm. Memorials will go to the Family's Choice. Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
