Gavin Luke Hammons

Gavin Luke Hammons, age 21, of Biloxi, Mississippi, passed away on November 26, 2025, in Mount Olive, Mississippi. He was born on May 27, 2004, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Jeremy Hammons and Jennifer Goodhart, who lovingly cherish his memory.

Gavin proudly served his country as an active-duty member of the United States Air Force, stationed at Keesler Air Base in Biloxi, MS. Outside of the Air Force, Gavin was an avid private pilot whose love of flying reflected his carefree nature, adventurous spirit, and his desire to see the world from new heights.

Gavin was also a self-taught guitarist. From Metallica to Nirvana to Zach Bryan - and especially Freebird, which he loved to play on repeat - his music was a piece of his soul he shared with everyone around him.

Gavin's greatest joy in life though was his daughter, Blair Monroe Hammons, whom he adored beyond measure. His love for her was evident in every moment he spent with her, and his legacy will continue throughout her life.

Gavin is survived by his parents, Jeremy Hammons and Jennifer Goodhart; his stepmother, Stephanie Hammons; his sister, Jordan Rauls, and brother-in-law Jacob Rauls; his brothers, Aiden Hammons and Austen Self; and his beloved daughter, "Blair Bear." He is also survived by his grandparents Robert and Joyce Hammons of Warren, George and Brenda Goodhart of North Little Rock, Larry and Alice Carpenter of Springdale, and Debi Elmore of Mount Olive, Mississippi, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. His nieces-Annalise, Willa, and Adeline Claire-will grow up hearing stories of their uncle's humor, kindness, and adventurous heart.

Whether serving his country, soaring through the sky, playing his guitar, or spending time with his family and friends, Gavin lived with purpose and heart. His absence leaves an immeasurable void, yet the love he shared in his special way will continue to shape and inspire all who knew him.

Gavin's cousin, 2nd Lieutenant Beau Castleberry, United States Marine Corps, will be standing watch over him with honor and devotion. Lt. Castleberry will serve as Gavin's military escort, a final act of love and respect.

Soma Jets LLC of Bentonville graciously flew Gavin's father, sister, and brothers to Gulfport, Mississippi, to receive his remains and accompany him home to Little Rock, Arkansas. Gavin will be received at the North Little Rock Municipal Airport, the place where he took flight lessons, and made his very first solo flight. Upon his return, pilot Dana McDonald will honor Gavin by logging his final flight hours in his pilot's log, a lasting tribute to his passion for flying. The United States Air Force Honor Guard, along with numerous friends and family, will be present to welcome Gavin home.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 6th from 3:00-4:00PM at New life Church in North Little Rock (8000 Crystal Hill Road) with Funeral Services following at 4:00PM with Jim Goodhart officiating. Graveside Service and burial will take place Monday, December 8th, at 11:00AM at the Arkansas Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock.
