Gay Lynn (Gabrys) Solone aged 82, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025. Born on June 3, 1943 in Berwyn, IL. She was a resident of Aurora, IL. She is survived by her son, Louis J. Solone III, his wife Rachael, her daughter Victoria L. (Solone) Reyes, her husband Jason, and her grandchildren, Kyla and Aquino Reyes.
The family of Gay Lynn Solone is saddened to announce her passing and are also comforted in the thought knowing that her spirit is at peace. She was a trusted and loyal confidante, and she built life-long friendships that were cherished and relied upon by many. She was an animal lover and had many furry friends throughout her life that also benefited from her love and care; a colorful storyteller with boundless imagination and one who could talk to anyone for hours with her "gift for gab." A proud mother and a devoted grandmother, lovingly referred to as "Grammy", her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her forever.
She is preceded in death by her father Edward Gabrys, her mother Marion (Halunka) Gabrys, and her beloved grandmother or "bubu", Helen Halunka. A celebration of life to honor Gay's memory may be planned for a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the local chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, NAMI Illinois: Support & Advocacy for Mental Health (namiillinois.org) in her name.
