Gayle Foreman Swilley, born on February 8, 1940, in Winnfield, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at Baptist Memorial Medical Center in Jackson, MS, on February 10, 2026. She was 86 years old.

Gayle Foreman Swilley was born in Winnfield, Louisiana on February 8, 1940. Her parents were Thomas Foreman and Evelyn Stevens Foreman. Gayle had one younger sister, Linda, who died at age two.

Gayle grew up in Winn Parish in the Pacton community. She graduated from Winnfield High School as a member of the 1957 class. Gayle later received a Certificate of Completion in bookkeeping and clerical practices at Huey P. Long Vocational School in Winnfield. Using the skills she learned there, Gayle worked at Winn State Bank for several years and completed her working years at the Winn Parish Health Center.

Gayle and Conrad Swilley were married on February11, 1961 in Pineville, La. Gayle and Conrad raised their family living in Winnfield for 53 years surrounded by a loving church family and cherished friends. First Baptist Church of Winnfield is their church home and has always been a source of strength to the Swilley family. Gayle always enjoyed teaching the two year old Sunday School class for 20 years.

After many years of living and working in Winnfield, Louisiana, Conrad and Gayle moved to Clinton, MS in December 2014. Gayle passed away at Baptist Memorial Medical Center in Jackson Ms. at 4:20 AM on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.

Gayle was preceded in death by son Scott Swilley, who died in 1997. She is survived by her husband of sixty five years, Conrad Swilley, daughter Kelly Walker and husband Danny of Somerville, TX, son Mark Swilley and wife Stephanie of Clinton, MS. Grandchildren are Amy Jones and husband Charles of New Mexico, John Stewart and wife Susan of Texas, Shane Walker and wife Danielle of Texas, Brandon and wife Caitlin of Louisiana. Additional grandchildren are Summer Henderson, Sandia Saddler and husband Lucas, and Mollie Swilley, all of Mississippi and 17 great grandchildren.

Friends may visit with the family at Southern Funeral Home on Friday, February 13th from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM with graveside service to immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Garden Of Memories Cemetery with Reverend John Holland officiating.

Pallbearers will be: Kevin Poisso, Terry Ramsey, Marty Harrel, Donnie Purser, Mike Crawford, and Terry Mixon.
