Gaylene Otteson Obituary
July 3, 1948 - January 19, 2025
Gaylene L. Otteson, age 76, passed away peacefully with loved ones on Sunday, January 19, 2025. She was born on July 3, 1948, in Stoughton, to Edmund and Marilyn (Whiting) Halverson. Gaylene was a graduate of McFarland High School. She married Andrew Otteson on July 5, 1969.
Gaylene enjoyed sewing, quilting, and all things crafting with friends. She enjoyed trips up north to the cabin, tending to her garden, and being with her family.
Gaylene was a 76-year member of McFarland Lutheran Church and was still active as long as she was able.
Gaylene is survived by her husban,d Andy; son, Kirk; brother, David (Barb) Halverson; and countless friends. Gaylene was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Kristi Otteson.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at Cress MCFARLAND with a memorial service to follow. Gaylene will be brought to her final place of rest in a private service at Highland Memory Gardens in Cottage Grove. Memorials are appreciated to the UW Living Kidney Donation (https://www.uwhealth.org/treatments/living-kidney-donation).
