Gena Rider Obituary
Gena (Merow) Rider, 60, of Milford, MA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 22, 2026. Born in Killingly, CT, Gena was a light in all of our lives. She shared her passions and talents with the world in various ways. She promoted health and wellness through communities like Jazzercise and Livestrong, and supported the wellness of others through her private practice. Her education brought personal growth and skills that improved so many lives. She inspired people to dance, live free, and be happy through her time singing in her band and teaching fitness classes. A former board member of the Holliston Food Pantry, her thoughtfulness extended far beyond her social circle. She went out of her way to ensure the care and wellbeing of those in need, loving people and animals alike. Her infectious energy drew people in, keeping people laughing and smiling the whole way through. It is an honor to call her a mother, daughter, sister, and friend.
Gena is survived by her mother, Betty Merow, her brothers Todd and Cory Merow, her children, Jack and Nick Rider, and her fiancée Bob Marcolini. She is predeceased by her father, Gene Merow.
There will be a public service held on Sunday, March 15, 2026 at Consigli Ruggerio Funeral home in Milford, MA. Calling hours will be held from 1-3PM with a service at 3:00 and a reception at the Milford Italian American Vets afterwards.
