Gena Cates Woods

Gena Cates Woods, age 46 of Tyler, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 in Longview, Texas. She has resided in Longview for the past year and was previously a lifelong resident of Tyler where she was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church. Gena worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant and in her spare time enjoyed reading, her cat, and spending time with her beloved family. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, George and Pat Cates; step grandfather, Pete Peden; and maternal grandfather, Charles Johnson.
Gena is survived by husband, Kevin Woods of Longview; parents, Kip and Debie Cates of Tyler; maternal grandmother, Peggy Peden of Tyler; step grandmother, Wanda Sue Johnson of Chandler; children, Draven McLemore of Dallas and Hayden McLemore of Whitehouse; stepdaughters, Alyssa Woods and Kymber Woods; brother, Ross Cates and wife, Kacie of Tyler; niece, Reagan Cates of Tyler; and numerous other loving family members and friends.
