Genaro M. Garcia, a dedicated mail handler for the United States Postal Service for over 50 years, passed away on January 31 2024, in his hometown of Tucson, Arizona. He was born on June 6, 1949, in Tucson to his loving parents Genaro and Dolores Garcia.

Genaro attended Howenstine High School in Tucson and graduated with a strong work ethic and determination that would shape his future endeavors. After completing his education, he joined the United States Postal Service, where he dedicated himself to his responsibilities as a mail handler. Genaro's commitment and hard work earned him admiration from his colleagues and the respect of the community.

Mr. Garcia was known for his jovial personality and quick wit. He had an unparalleled sense of humor and enjoyed bringing smiles to the faces of those around him. Genaro's friends and family cherished his lighthearted nature and unforgettable jokes. Despite any hardships or challenges he faced throughout life, he approached each day with a positive outlook, demonstrating resilience and strength of character.

Outside of work, Genaro had various hobbies and interests that brought him joy and relaxation. He was an avid fan of WWE wrestling matches, finding entertainment in the adrenaline-pumping action inside the squared circle. In addition to sports entertainment, Genaro delighted in watching old westerns on television, immersing himself in tales of cowboys and outlaws from a bygone era. His favorite NFL team was the San Francisco 49ers; he avidly followed their games and celebrated their victories.

However, above all else, Genaro's proudest accomplishments were his children and grandchildren. He cherished every moment spent with them, creating lasting memories filled with love and laughter. Genaro's children Carmen Garcia (Ernesto) and Denise Garcia meant the world to him. He also held a special place in his heart for his grandchildren: Irene Garcia, Andrea Ortiz, Ernesto Ortiz Jr., Adam Ortiz, Terry Garcia, Carlos Garcia, and Ethan Garcia. Their presence brought immense joy and fulfillment to Genaro's life.

Genaro was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patsy Garcia, his parents Genaro and Dolores Garcia, his grandson Ernesto Ortiz and siblings, Richard and Joe Quintero. While their absence left a void in his heart, Genaro's love for them continued to shine brightly in cherished memories.

He is survived by his loving children Carmen Garcia (Ernesto) and Denise Garcia. Genaro's legacy lives on through his grandchildren Irene Garcia, Andrea Ortiz (Frankie), Ernesto Ortiz Jr., Adam Ortiz, Terry Garcia, Carlos Garcia, and Ethan Garcia. His spirit will also be carried forward by his great-grandchildren AJ Zazueta, Markos Zazueta, Ariza Zazueta, Ernesto Ortiz III, Mia Ortiz, Iliana Ortiz, Gloria Ortiz, Adam Ortiz, Betty Ortiz, Angelo Ortiz, and Aviel Ortiz.

Genaro also leaves behind siblings, Trinidad Tapia and  Robert Quintero as well as a large extended family of nieces and nephews who were fortunate enough to have known him during their time together. His selflessness and caring nature touched the lives of many within his inner circle and beyond.
