Gene Allen

Gene Allen, 84 (born 05/18/1941) of Grapeland, TX passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2025. Gene Olan Allen, age 84, of Grapeland, Texas, left this earth for his heavenly home, November 15th, 2025, he passed peacefully at his home. He was born May 18, 1941, at home, in Grapeland, to parents John Turner (Johnnie) Allen and Donie Octavia Huffhines Allen.
Gene was a devoted husband, father, brother, and uncle. He was a skilled hunter and fisherman who loved the outdoors. He was known for mentoring many young people on their first hunting or fishing trip. Roofing was his trade. He taught several of his nephews, his wife, and his children how to roof.
Preceded in death by his mother and father, Mother-in-law Irene Carpenter, Father-In-Law Hubert F. Carpenter, son, Gene Olan (Bubba) Allen II, brother's James and John, sisters, Marie, Joyce, Joann and Rebecca. Son-in-law Keith Snell and good friend Billy Wayne Kennedy.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Sandra Sue Carpenter Allen, daughters, Gina Sue Allen Wilson and Kirk of Oklahoma, Sandy Allen Snell of Grapeland, son, Johnny L. Allen of Grapeland. Sisters Bonnie Deckerd of Crockett, Tx., Cathy Ditzler of Brian College Station, Tx. and Donnie Barnonofsky of Houston, Tx. Grandchildren, Gene Olan (Trey) Allen III, Sara Wilson, Emily Wilson, Whitney Snell Smith and Cory, Travis James (TJ) Snell, Great grandchild: Ophelia Sage Smith. Numerous cherished Niece's and Nephew's. Lifelong childhood friend Carroll Langham. Special cherished friends, Larry Benge, Eddie Lehr, Paul Graham, Terry Long, and many more.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charities of your choice. Graveside services will be held at Refuge Cemetery, Grapeland, Texas, Saturday at 1pm. Services held by All Families Mortuary of Lufkin, Tx. Eulogy by Pastor Ron Foreman of Crockett, Texas.
