Gene Brouillette, 74, of Cottonport, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2025.

Born on October 1, 1951, in Bunkie, Louisiana, Gene was the beloved son of Raymond and Lynell Brouillette, the eldest son of four children. He graduated from Bunkie High School in 1969 and went on to build a life marked by hard work, devotion, and a deep love for his friends and family.

Gene is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sandi and Lee Worley; and two grandsons, Leighton and Jimmy Worley, who cherished him as their "Papa B." He is also survived by his sister, Susan Lachney and her husband of Houston, TX; his brother, Tommy Brouillette and his wife of Pineville, LA; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Charles "Ben" Brouillette.

Gene's career began in sales, but his adventurous spirit led him to sweet potato farming, where he made countless trips to his farm outside of Marksville. Later, he found pride in his work as Lead Carpenter at Camp Beauregard, retiring after 10 years of service.

A true outdoorsman, Gene loved hunting and fishing, but his greatest joy in retirement came from spending time with his grandsons. He was deeply proud of them and loved them fiercely. Family and friends will remember him most for his sharp humor, warm personality, and unwavering faith in the Lord.

A memorial service celebrating Gene's life will be held on October 4th at White's Chapel United Methodist Church in Gold Dust, LA at 2pm. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to All Saints Hospice for their compassion and care.

That we will have a gathering immediately following the service at his home: 957 Dr. HJ Kaufman Ave. Cottonport, LA

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to White's Chapel Methodist Church.

Gene's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
