You were the best Uncle in the world.. when I was little I wanted to marry someone just like you. I remember the times When you Mom Dad and the family were altogether playing cards laughing and having a great time. If it want for you and Dad being best friends and you introduced Mom and Dad I wouldn't be here. I love you Uncle Gene Patty

When I was a young boy looking for adventure, Uncle Gene took me for a walk down past the Cresaptown Elementary School to the railroad tracks to watch the smoky trains. We climbed hills that were just above the tracks to watch. Exposure to the black smoke was determined by wind directions. Sometimes the smoke was so thick we could not see the train below us. For an 8 year old, this was high adventure. I never called him 'uncle', just Gene; that was the practice in that Dawson family.
