Gene Hosea
was born in Savannah, Tennessee on December 31, 1939 the son of the late Grady George and Margaret Annie Burden Hosea.
On June 15, 1962, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Kate English, who survives.
Gene worked in the recycle department for 19 years at the Packaging Corporation of America. He was a member of the Savannah Masonic Lodge, Teamsters Union, and Riverview Baptist Church. Gene loved Southern Gospel music, specifically quartets. He enjoyed watching golf, Atlanta Braves Baseball and all things Tennessee VOLS. Gene loved spending time with his family, especially his grandsons, Tanner and Tyler. But most of all he loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in whom he trusted as a young boy.
Gene departed this life on Saturday, November 9, 2024 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 84 years, 10 months, and 9 days.
In addition to his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Hosea of Savannah, Tennessee, he is survived by his daughter, Kathy Gravett and her husband Mike of Savannah, Tennessee; grandsons, Tanner Owen Gravett and Tyler Chase Gravett; nephews, Danny Fay, Juan Hosea, and Ricky Hosea; niece, Bonnie Blanton; and cousins, Elizabeth Blackwelder and Larry Jerrolds.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Margaret Hosea and two brothers, Melvin Hosea and Mervin Hosea.
