Gene Jenkins, affectionately known as Sunny and King Gene Jenkins, passed away on December 17, 2025, in Arlington, TX. He was born on November 3, 1945, in Charleston, MS, and lived a life marked by joy, kindness, and an unwavering spirit.

A proud veteran of the Marines, Gene carried the values of service and dedication throughout his life. He embarked on a fulfilling career with the railroad in St. Louis before retiring from the California Science Center after 15 years. His colleagues remember him not just for his hard work, but also for his vibrant personality. Gene was a sharp dresser, always presenting himself with a flair that echoed his cheerful disposition.

Gene's life was enriched by his passions. Known as a pool shark and the domino king, he shared laughter and friendly competition with friends and family alike. He had a special talent for bringing people together, often filling rooms with his laughter and warm smile. His optimistic outlook and compassionate nature made him a true friend to many, while his steadfast faith exemplified what it meant to be a devoted Christian.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved spouse, Hazel Jenkins. They shared a deep bond that illustrated the beauty of companionship, loving each other through life's twists and turns.

In his passing, the legacy of Gene Jenkins will continue to thrive in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be remembered for his infectious joy, his dedication to family, and his unwavering spirit.
