Gene Minter, a man of great resilience and warmth, bid farewell to this world on April 3, 2024, in Ennis, Texas. Born in the small community of Crisp, Texas, on August 24, 1936, Gene's journey unfolded with a tapestry of meaningful moments that touched the lives of many.

Gene's legacy is intertwined with his thriving career as the esteemed Owner of Minter Electric in Athens, Texas. Even after his initial retirement, Gene embraced a new adventure as he guided truckers transporting colossal wind turbine blades across the expanse of our nation while behind the wheel of a pilot car. His tales of these voyages captivated his loved ones and friends, painting vivid pictures of his travels.

Known for his tender spirit and infectious sense of humor, Gene left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. His kind and welcoming demeanor made everyone feel cherished and valued in his presence. Family meant everything to Gene, and he never let an opportunity pass to bask in their company.

Beyond his professional accomplishments and endearing personality, Gene found solace in nurturing his hobbies. His love for nurturing roses and tending to his vegetable garden reflected his penchant for growth and life. He found joy in riding his electric bicycle and later relished the freedom granted by his electric scooter.

Gene's presence will be deeply missed by those who shared in his life's journey. He leaves behind a legacy cherished by many: daughter, Carla Tapley (spouse - Ronnie), brother, Larry Minter; grandchildren, Jason Cox (spouse - Rachel), John Cox (spouse - Mollie), Joel Cox, Natalie Cox, and Ashley Cox Keasler (spouse - Mitchell); along with 8 great grandchildren.

Those loved ones preceding him in death are his wife, Patricia; his infant son, Jerry Scott Minter, father, Charlie Minter; mother, Opal Wilson Minter; brother Wayne Minter; and sister, Edna Beasley.

Services to honor and celebrate Gene's remarkable life will be held at Anderson - Clayton Funeral Home in Kaufman, TX. A Visitation will take place from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 AM on April 9, 2024. He will be laid to rest at Kaufman Cemetery immediately following the funeral service.

As we bid farewell to Gene Minter in physical form, we carry forward the memories of his laughter, compassion, and unwavering love that will remain etched in our hearts for generations to come. In every bloom and gentle breeze that passes us by, may we find echoes of Gene's enduring spirit – one that continues to guide us with love and light.

Rest peacefully, dear Gene.
