From November 1997 to August 2019 I work for Gene in the acquisitions/dispositions arena. The time he took with me, almost daily, conveyed a PHD to me in commercial real estate. His kindness, patience and generosity to me was instrumental in the wonderful life I was able to give my family through the 90 closings we completed. I have never met anyone with the intellect of Gene Phillips. He ran his empire from his mind, yellow pad and red pen. Truly a genius and phenomenal man. I am slow to get this posted. Knew he had passed late 2019, but just now have been able to write this about the man i considered a friend.

Just a note from someone who was part of one of the organizations that Roxanne and Gene belonged to. I only knew them to say hello but I did want to acknowledge that I read the wonderful tribute to Mr. Phillips and that I cared enough to send our deepest sympathy.

I'm sending lots of love and sympathy to the entire Phillips family in this time of grief. I love you all.
I'm sad to say goodbye to Gene Phillips. He was my employer for several stints in my chef career over a span of 25+ years. He was also an anchor in my life, which I did not realize until he was gone.
I love that he loved his garden. I wonder just how many pounds of vegetables I cooked from it. He was such a healthy eater but he also loved Southern cooking and oh yeah, had a keen sweet tooth like mine. ;-)
I am grateful to have shared a small part of his life. He will be greatly missed.

My heart is shattered at the loss of such a good friend . I have known Gene since the early 90's and not only were we involved in real estate together but more importantly we were good friends . I will miss Gene very much but always cherish the memories of the times that we traveled together and also the times we would just sit down and talk. Gene you will forever be with me in my heart and soul .

Mr. Gene E. Phillips, have given us inexpressible grace when we begin our lives in America since 1986.
His consideration has allowed us to live a successful life and we live without forgetting his grace forever.
We were heartbroken to hear the news and pray that all his family and loved ones will be comforted by the Holy Spirit's and the hope of heaven and resurrection.

Nine of us moved our families to Dallas from the Carolinas with Gene (then Syntek Corp.) in 1979. Even in his thirties, he was a mover & shaker, and to motivate employees & managers there was a natural ability to be a professor, an engineer, a psychologist, military commander and overall leader while on the run doing deals. In short, he was a mentor to many! RIP, Gene

My thoughts and prayers are with the Phillips's family. I was fortunate to have managed many of his properties over a 25 year span between 2 different management companies. I'll forever remember the impressive way he could see the future of a piece of real estate when others couldn't. He certainly helped mold this industry. God Speed.

Gene was a friend, a client and a fellow designer. He always called me when he had a project he cared about and wanted a good Architect. He was kind and always had a good word for me. I once asked him when he was going to retire-he just smiled.Gene had good taste and was a frustrated Architect himself. I will miss him. I was his Architect. God bless the Phillips family.
