Gene West Obituary
He was born June 14, 1926, in Albany, the son of the late William L. and Hattie Bobo West. Gene was a farmer, school bus driver, a former Lee Twp Trustee,
a member, Past Master and 75-year member of Albany Masonic Lodge #723 F & AM,
The Albany Order of Eastern Star #558, the Albany Global Methodist Church and the Albany
Senior Citizens. Special life interests especially attending Alexander sporting events,
and was an avid hunter.
He is survived by daughters Linda I. (Lucian) Barcus, and Jeanie K. Fraedrich;
Grandchildren Tim (JoAnne) Adams, Tony Adams, Mike (Shonna) Fraedrich,
Angie (Justin) Booth, Matt Barcus, and Sarah Barcus (Christian) Holihan,
15 great-grandchildren, a special friend Shirley Henthorne; many nieces
nephews, and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Hazel Woodyard West, son in law David Fraedrich, and a great-grandson Casey West Adams,
Siblings Winifred West Hooper, Mae West Radford, Evelyn West Hooper, Frances West Keogh,
Madge West Chesser, Lawrence West, Darrell West, Ralph West.
Services are Thursday February 19, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. at Bigony-Jordan Funeral Home,
5258 Washington Road, Albany, Ohio 45710, with Pastor A.J. Bernard officiating. Burial will be in
Alexander Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. with Masonic Services
at 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers Memorial contributions can be made to the Albany Global Methodist Church, P.O. Box 74, Albany, Ohio 45710 or Alexander Future Foundation, P.O. Box 204, Albany, Ohio 45710.
