Dr Yoder, was my best buddy in the 7th grade at Mt. Sidney Elementary. His Dad was a preacher and moved into our area for just that year. We really didn't connect after that year but I followed his career. A very smart fellow. We had fun together that year.

Gene was a great colleague and good friend. We had some good conversations in the old RMH parking lot. He was there for my sister when she passed, and I will be forever grateful to him for that time. It was hard to believe he retired, and this is even more unbelievable. May God grant you peace.

Marlene and sons, please accept my deepest sympathies at your loss. Gene and I loved playing next to each other on the Broadway High School football team. We called cross blocks for Fullback Tommy Dove using the code phrase peaches and cream. He was an attentive doctor for both my parents. His struggle is over and he is at peace. I won't forget his sly smile and offbeat sense of humor.

Gene and I were classmates at Broadway High School and at the University of Richmond. He was a kind and gentle man gifted with a fine intellect. He left the world a better place, and we shall miss him greatly.
