Salem- Genesta Rose Vokovich,91, passed away peacefully Sunday morning October 19, 2025 at her home with her beloved niece beside her in prayer.
Born December 5, 1933 in Lisbon, she was a daughter of the late Enrico E. and Celestina (Volunteri) Baronzzi.
Genesta worked as a bank manager for more than 45 years, starting at Farmers Bank and retiring in 1996from Bank One.
Genesta graduated from Lisbon David Anderson High School in 1951 where she was head majorette. Genesta spent winters in Naples, Florida for many years. She was a member of St. Paul (Salem) and St. Peter the Apostle (Naples) Catholic Chuches where she was part of LCBA, the landscaping committee, and was a Eucharistic minister. She was past president of Columbiana Co. Bankers Association, Salem and Lisbon Kiwanis, past president of and vice-president of Salem Hills Condo Association. She loved dogs and playing Bocci.
Survivors include her twin brother Atty. Joseph Baronzzi of Lisbon and sister-in-law Bess Baronzzi, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Vokovich in 2019 as well as her brother Louis Baronzzi.
Calling hours will be 5 to 7 PM Thursday at the Weber Funeral Home. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 Am Friday at St. Paul Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Lisbon Cemetery.
