Geneva Kiefer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dingmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service –Adrian on Nov. 30, 2025.
Geneva Mary Kiefer, age 95, was born, Sept. 8th, 1930, to Peter and Mary (Saner) Engbarth in Adrian, Minnesota. She grew up on a farm west of Adrian. She was one of 8 children. Everyone had their chores to do. Geneva preferred to help her mom in the house rather than helping outside. She went to school at St. Adrian Catholic School. She also attended Beauty College in Minneapolis and worked as a beauty operator for a few years and then for the telephone company.

Geneva married Donald Kiefer in Aurora, Colorado in 1953. They separated after a few years, and Geneva became a single parent raising 2 children. She returned to Adrian, MN. She was employed at Safeway Egg Plant for many years until it closed. She then worked as a Nurse's Aid at Arnold Memorial Hospital and Nursing Home.

Geneva moved to LeSueur, MN to be near her daughter after having a stroke in 2016. She passed away painlessly and peacefully on Nov. 28th, 2025. She had a caring heart, a warm laugh and helping hands. You never had to wonder what she was thinking because she would tell you. She made the world smile because of the difference she made in people's lives. She loved her family and friends wholeheartedly and faithfully.

She had a deep love and devotion to the Catholic church. She was a faithful member of the Catholic Daughters, Grey Ladies and Senior Center Volunteer.

Geneva is survived by her daughter, Stephanie (Gaylon) Moody of Le Sueur; three grandchildren, Carl (Colleen), Philip (Meagan) and Teresa; sister, Alice Gibbs; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Steven; infant son, Michael; three brothers, Vernon, Edward, and Norbert; and three sisters, Lorna Faltys, Margaret Brester and Marlene Hoffman.

Geneva's son in-law is currently undergoing intense treatment for Acute Myeloid Leukemia. A mass of Christian Burial for Geneva will be held at a later date.
