She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Frances Lyles; brother, Shorty Lyles; sister, Inez Davenport; and grandchild, Marlena Young.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Payne; sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Ronda Payne of Chatsworth and Edward and Cathryn Payne of Chatsworth; daughter, Melynda Payne of Dalton; brother, James Lyles of Chatsworth; sister, Edna Owens of Oakman; grandchildren, Marty McKenzie, Michaela Disney, Michael McKenzie, Makaesha Cross, KrystiAnna Payne, Angeleaha Payne, Alyssa Payne, Austin Payne, Alexandra Payne, Aren Williams, and Adam Mixon; and twenty-five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Payne will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, in the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Chuck Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Immanuel United Fellowship Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
Peeples Funeral Home & Crematory of Chatsworth has been entrusted with the arrangements for Mrs. Geneva Lyles Payne.
