Genevieve A. Butler, age 95, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her beloved family. She is survived by her beloved sons Glenn (Cindy) Butler of Zion, IL and Gary Butler, of Wadsworth, IL; her dear brother-in-law Wayne Butler of Tupelo, MS and sister-in-law Mattie Bradfield of Marietta, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives that will miss her deeply.
She is preceded in passing by her beloved husband Paul Butler, her proud parents Aloysius and Anna Machak, and her dear siblings Frances Machak, Phyllis (Walter) Gordy, Anthony (Beverly) Machak, Al (Bernice) Machak, Bernard (Pat) Machak, and Edward (Pat) Machak, and waiting for her across the rainbow bridge is her beloved dog Davey.
Genevieve enjoyed gardening, traveling, reading, and being with her family. She was a gentle soul that touched many lives.
Friends and family will meet for visitation on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 from 4PM-8PM at Warren Funeral Home, 1475 N. Cemetery Road, Gurnee, IL. The funeral service will take place the next day on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at 10:30AM at St. Patrick Church, 15000 W. Wadsworth Road, Wadsworth, IL. Interment to follow at Ascension Catholic Cemetery, Libertyville, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Genevieve's name to The Special Olympics would be greatly appreciated.
