Genevieve Marie (Thomas) DeWitt, 77, of Oakland, died on Monday, May 8, 2023, at her home.
Born on January 16, 1946, in Oakland, she was the daughter of the late Charles Stemple Sr. and Rosalee (Thomas) DeWitt.
Genevieve went to Southern High School and was a home maker. She was a member of the Loch Lynn Church of God. Genevieve enjoyed spending time with family, gardening, traveling, antiques, log cabins, old barns, and reading her bible.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Clyde DeWitt Sr.; children, Jeffrey DeWitt and wife Audrey of Cranesville, Donald DeWitt and wife Karen of Oakland, Clyde DeWitt Jr. and wife Barbara of Oakland, Randy DeWitt and Wife Denise of Oakland, Todd DeWitt and wife Kristina of Oakland, and Heather DeWitt of Oakland; grandchildren, Jennifer Cosner, Stephen DeWitt, Chad DeWitt, Angie Lilly, Josh DeWitt, Dillon DeWitt, and Evan DeWitt; and eleven great-grandchildren.
A private service and interment will be held in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to thank Lisa Sypolt and Joanna Gank for the extraordinary care given to their mom over the past few weeks.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Garrett County, PO Box 271, Oakland, MD 21550.
