With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Genevieve Samone Ortiz, born on February 23, 1950, in Roy, New Mexico, who left this world on November 29, 2025, at the age of 75, surrounded by the love of her family. Genevieve, a vibrant soul, will be remembered for her devotion to family, her passion for cooking, and her love for literature. As a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, she held a special place in the hearts of many.
On June 6, 1974, Genevieve married the love of her life, Anacleto Ortiz, with whom she shared many happy memories and a deep bond. Together, they created a nurturing environment filled with love and laughter for their family.
Genevieve's life was filled with joy, laughter, and a commitment to staying connected to those she loved. Her daughters; Anita Serna of Texico, NM, Connie Mowels (Robert) of Pueblo, CO, Leticia Galvan (Ruben) of Farwell, Tx, son; Patrick Ortiz of Texico, NM, sisters; Patricia Maes of Clovis, NM, Libby Armendariz of Tx, brothers; William Aragon of Tx, Jimmy Aragon of Clovis, NM, Michael Aragon of Clovis, NM, David Aragon of Las Vegas, NV and her 18 grandchildren, along with numerous great-grandchildren, will forever cherish the beautiful memories created during family gatherings. Genevieve found solace in the companionship of her beloved dogs, Betty and Harley, who filled her days with joy and unconditional love.
Genevieve spent 46 years at Albertson's as a cashier, where her friendly smile enriched the lives of those she met. She took pride in her work and valued the connections she made throughout her career.
Genevieve was a passionate reader and writer, often sharing her thoughts and experiences through social media, especially Facebook, where she kept in touch with family and friends. Her zest for life and commitment to nurturing relationships will be deeply missed.
In this time of sorrow, we hold onto the legacy of love and warmth Genevieve S. Ortiz leaves behind. May she rest in peace, knowing she was deeply loved and touched the lives of so many.
