Genevieve Stockel
Genevieve was born to Charles and Mary Gaudon on December 4, 1935 in the
small town of Stephenville, Newfoundland, Canada.. Genevieve grew up
enjoying playing in the pastures and being near the ocean. Upon starting the
ninth grade in school she was pulled out to help her Mom with her many
younger siblings.
Years later she met a GI from the United States Air Force, Ronald Stockel and
they fell in love and married at 18 and 20 years of age.
Ten Months later their first of eight children was born on the Air Force base.
Less than a year later pregnant with their second child the family headed to
the US to live.
Fast forwarding after raising eight children and taking care of the home
Genevieve found golf and became quite good; enjoying it immensely. They
even moved to a golf course so she could golf everyday.
Genevieve and Ronald were also able to go to Florida every year for
approximately 25 years and enjoy the warm winters. Here she took up
clogging and line dancing, enjoying both along with her golfing.
Genevieve is survived by siblings Johanna Russell, Fidelis Jackson, Vivian
Anderson, Ronald Gaudon, Clifton Gaudon, Christina Herritt, Irene Gaudon,
and Deborah Aucoin, Her deceased siblings are Allan Gaudon, Stephen
Gaudon and Gregory Gaudon.
Genevieve is also survived by her husband of almost 70 years, Ronald. Their
surviving children are Denise (the late David) Steil, Donald (Cheryl) Stockel, Kenneth Stockel,
Kathleen (Michael) Johnson, David (Michelle) Stockel, Charles (Carey) Stockel,
and Cheryl (Scott) Gardner. Deceased beloved daughter Deborah (Ben)
Gillies.
Genevieve also leaves behind 22 grandchildren, many great children and one
great-great grandchild who will miss her very much
