George Andrews Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Baldwin Brothers Funerals & Cremation Society - The Villages/Spanish Spring on Dec. 13, 2025.
George J. Andrews, 84, of Summerfield, Florida, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 9, 2025. He was born on November 26, 1941, in Beverly, Massachusetts.

George is survived by his beautiful wife of 59 years, Carol Andrews, of Summerfield, Florida. He was a devoted father to Mike (Misty) Andrews of Yalaha, Florida, and Jody (Lane) Petroski of Anthony, Florida. He was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren: Jessica (Blake) Messer of Groveland, Florida; Jesse (Taylor) Strasser of Ocala, Florida; Andrew (Kelsie) Lawson of Starke, Florida; Jordan (Nick) Messina of Winter Garden, Florida; Jacob (Kayla) Lawson of Keystone Heights, Florida; and Nolan Andrews of Yalaha, Florida.

George was also blessed with eleven great-grandchildren: Weston, Jameson, Zander, Kaiden, Bennett, P.J., Palmer, Emiliana, Rowynn, Elena, and Rylynn, all of whom brought him immense joy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Evelyn Andrews of Beverly, Massachusetts; his brother, Richard Andrews of Beverly, Massachusetts; and his great-grandson, Bennett Tate of Groveland, Florida.

George proudly served his country in the United States Army, and was honored throughout his life to be a veteran. He never went far without his Army veteran hat-something he wore with deep pride and gratitude for his service. Following his military career, he dedicated 27 years to the Walt Disney World Company as a skilled carpenter and woodworker, taking great pride in his craft.

George found great happiness in spending time with his family, especially his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed the sunshine, relaxing by the pool, trips to Aruba, and never turned down a visit to the casino or a slot machine.

Most of all, George treasured the life he shared with his beautiful bride, Carol. Together they enjoyed many trips, built countless memories, and shared nearly six decades of love. They were truly inseparable, and their bond will forever be remembered by those who knew and loved them.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family and all who had the joy of knowing him.
