George-Ann Kahoun, nee Ginther, of Palatine, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, July 26th, 2022. She is survived by her husband, Frank R. Kahoun, her sons, Patrick F. (Leah) Kahoun and Steven G. Kahoun, her grandchildren, Nathan P. Kahoun and Katelyn M. Kahoun, and her brother, Jack (Catherine) Ginther. She was preceded by her parents Jack M. and Betty J. Ginther.
George-Ann was born in Chicago, IL on August 28th, 1952. She grew up in Peoria where she graduated from Richwoods High School. She attended the University of Iowa where she joined Delta Gamma Sorority and met the love of her life, Frank. After graduating with her Bachelor of Science Degree, she and Frank settled down and had their 2 sons. George-Ann worked as a Medical Technologist ASCP, BB while raising their two children.
Throughout her life, George-Ann focused on her love of music by sharing her talents on the piano through different community organizations and teaching youth in the area. Her skills in the kitchen, specifically baking and cake decorating, were shared with everyone to enjoy. She maintained wonderful friendships through her love of golf and her sorority alumnae group. She also followed in her mother's footsteps by sharing beautiful needlework pieces with friends and family. After retirement, George-Ann and Frank became world travelers visiting 6 continents with family and friends along for the journey. She loved the outdoors and could be found many an evening on her deck spending time with friends and family. Though she touched the lives of so many, both personally and professionally, her greatest joy was becoming a grandmother to Nathan and Katelyn.

So very sad to hear this today. I was one of her high school classmates and recently saw her at our reunion. I´m happy to read how she spent the rest of her life.
