George A. Babcock
PROCTOR- George Arthur Babcock, 95, of Proctor died Sunday morning November 9, 2025 following a long illness.
He was born on July 10, 1930 in Bethel, the son of George E. and Edith (Coutermarsh) Babcock.
George entered the U.S. Marine Corp serving during the Korena War following his honorable discharge he served with the VT National Guard for several years.
He was employed for many years at the Vermont Marble Company until his retirement. During his retirement he drove Bus first for Pittsford School and then for Marble Valley Transit.
George enjoyed being outdoors, camping and fishing.
He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and the American Legion Post 31.
Survivors include his wife Beverly Babcock of Proctor, a daughter Sandy Fucile of Castleton, 2 sons Bruce Babcock and Steve Babcock both of Pittsford, a sister Ruby Bisson of Rutland, grandchildren Peter, Gregory, Christopher, Stephannie, Jason and Brian, great grandchildren Teigan, Tucker, Bradey, Aubrey, Owen and Mia, several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by 2 sisters Yvonne Berg in 2016 and Elizabeth Adams in 2019 and 3 brothers Edward Babcock in 1979, Joseph Babcock in 2010 and Raymond Babcock in 2016.
Private graveside services will be held at a later date in the Riverside Cemetery in Proctor.
Arrangements are with the Barnard Funeral Home.
