George Orba Bailey

George O. Bailey, 96, of Williamsburg, passed away on February 4, 2013. He retired from Colonial Williamsburg after 28 years of service as a maintenance engineer. An avid Atlanta Braves fan, George also enjoyed fishing and gardening. He also had love and compassion for all kinds of animals. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, George cherished time spent with family. He was a member of Williamsburg Church of Christ. He is survived by his children, Shirley Harper; Nancy Gilliam and her husband, Jack; Jerry Bailey and his wife, Sharon; and Peggy Sperduto; seven grandchildren, Amy Dovi, Amber Gilliam, Jennifer Foster, Karen Bailey, Jason Bailey, Jesse Bailey, and Peter Sperduto; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Bailey; his parents, Colonel and Lula Bailey; two sisters and one brother. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Williamsburg Church of Christ, 227 Merrimac Trail, Williamsburg, with interment following at Williamsburg Memorial Park.
