George S. Baumert, 98, of Yardley, PA died on March 22, 2021 at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne, PA. Born in Collingdale, PA, George was long time Bucks Co. resident. George is a Veteran of WWII serving in Europe with the 321st ordinance Battalion. He was awarded several military medals in addition to 5 Bronze Stars for his service. George is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with his degree in Chemistry. He was employed by Jack Frost Sugar Co. in Philadelphia and the Department of Defense for many years. George was an avid traveler. In his eighties he traveled to China, where he rode camels in the desert, and later traveled down the Amazon River in Brazil. George was a nature lover, he enjoyed hiking the Appalachian trail, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family. He was a loving father and grandfather who always had a smile on his face. He will be greatly missed by his family. George is the son of the late George and Margaret Curry Baumert and husband of the late Helen Suica Baumert. He is survived by his daughter and son in law Judith and William Hastie, his granddaughters, Melissa and Anne Hastie. He is also survived by his niece and nephew, Gail Crouse and Thomas Pfeiffer Private services and interment with Military Honors will be held at Newtown Cemetery.
