George Bizenberger Obituary

George Simon Bizenberger

September 13, 1931 - September 14, 2025

Trenton, Illinois - George Simon Bizenberger, 94, of Trenton, IL, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Born on September 13, 1931, in Lawrence, NE, George lived a long and meaningful life rooted in family, service, and hard work.

In 1951, George proudly joined the United States Navy and served during the Korean War. After four years of service, he returned home to Illinois to take over the small Shiloh farm his father had built. It was there that George began building the foundation of the life he cherished most.

Soon after returning, George met the love of his life, Barbara Rae Farrow. Together they married and created a beautiful, bustling family on the farm-milking cows, working the land, and raising their children with devotion and joy. Barbara, an only child, had always dreamed of a big family, and George helped her create one. To their children, he was the best soul anyone could hope for in a father.

Over their 67 years together, George became the proud father of six children: Kathy Pierce, Susan McCall, Karl Bizenberger, Mary Carpenter, Kurt Bizenberger, and Teresa Bizenberger. His legacy expanded to include 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him tremendous pride and joy.

George is also survived by his sister, Thusnelda "Toots" Mueller of Montana, as well as his nieces Cindy Taylor, Cary Taylor, and Collette Taylor, who also reside in Montana.

After retiring from dairy farming in 1998, George embarked on a new adventure. He returned to school to earn his CDL and spent the next 23 years driving a milk tanker, hauling neighbors' milk to dairies across the country. He loved the work, the people, and the sense of purpose it continued to give him.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara, and his parents, August and Helen Bizenberger.

The family will hold a private burial. In lieu of donations, they ask that others honor George's memory by loving their family and friends as fully and deeply as he always did.

George will be missed tremendously by all who knew him. His kindness, strength, and unwavering dedication to those he loved will remain in the hearts of many for years to come.

I live across the street from the Bisenberger family farm. George and I spent many hours in his basement building fancy wall hangings and shelves and learning and doing taxidermy. We mounted several birds, both large and small as the farm land on the Missippi River had lots of hawks and crows we hunted. He was a dedicated Accordion musician and I accompanied him to St Louis for some of his lessons. The family frequently included me in the German dance festivities. His family background and life style had a big influence in my life then and were a part of how I lived for the 70 plus years since we were together as teenagers. Even in his youth he was an excellent role model.
