George A. Boutote, 84, died peacefully on Sunday, October 19, 2025 at Baystate Medical Center, Springfield, in the presence of family. Born in Ware, MA to the late George and Caroline (Cembura) Boutote, George grew up in West Warren, MA. He served his country in the United States Army for 3 years. Hard working and loyal, George worked in purchasing for the former HBA Cast Products in Springfield for over 30 years.
George married his loving bride, Susan, in 1969. Together they built a loving home in Palmer where they raised their 2 daughters, Christine and Lynn. He was the ultimate family man, taking good care of not only his wife and children; but also his mother and mother-in-law, each living well into their 90s. Loving, humble and honest, he was truly a “good guy.”
George spent his retirement years lovingly known as “Poppy” to all, after welcoming 2 grandchildren. As a grandpa he could be seen at baseball games, soccer games, football games, basketball games, gymnastics meets, cheer comps, grandparents' day, concerts and many other activities Ben and Allie had along the way.
George enjoyed traveling with Susan and extended family through the years, special places with frequent visits and many happy memories were Las Vegas and Walt Disney World. Most recently, George and Susan enjoyed Bingo at “The Woods,” playing cribbage, watching UConn women’s basketball, and partying with the Bougelmans.
George is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Susan (Paradis) Boutote, their two devoted daughters; Christine Stengel and her husband Jonathan of South Windsor, CT and Lynn Cotterman and her husband Bryan of Vernon, CT, 2 cherished grandchildren; Benjamin and Allison Stengel, and “brother” Jim Radulski of TX. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 26th from 2:00-5:00 PM at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. Family and friends may meet for George’s Funeral Mass on Monday, October 27th at 10:00 AM at Divine Mercy Parish, Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 2267 Main St. in Three Rivers, MA.
