George R. Brown Jr.

Mr. George Reynolds Brown Jr, age 89 of Jackson, George passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at his home.

Mr. Brown was born September 19th, 1936 in Atlanta, Georgia. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Donna W. Brown, his parents, George and Lois Brown, his sister Sandra Goddard, and son-in-law Ray Naylor.

He was a devoted husband, Daddy, and PawPaw. He visited a dozen countries with his father, and continued seeing the world as a Corporal in the 3rd Marine Division. Known for his integrity, he carried it with him from the summit of Stone Mountain, around the islands of Okinawa, to the markets of Hofuf and back. He retired after 34 distinguished years at the Ford Atlanta Assembly Plant where he was a supervisor. George embodied the grit of a generation that built our modern America, fueled it, and gave it an engine to keep moving.

We'll need that momentum to carry us forward without him. Survivors include 3 children and their spouses, Deonna Naylor, Denise and Wayne Knowles, George R. Brown III and Susan Brown; 5 grandchildren and their spouses, Stephanie Nelson, Christopher Knowles, Brad Naylor (Lindsay), Chad Naylor (Brittany), George R. Brown IV (Amy); 13 great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Frankie and Polly Weaver.
