Geroge W. Bumbera age 89 of Oregon, Ohio passed away peacefully Monday, February 10, 2025 at the Gardens of St. Francis. George was born to Joseph and Mary (Balloy) Bumbera on September 5, 1935, in Toledo, Ohio. He worked as a Journeyman Machine Repair Technician and was a proud member of the UAW Local 12 working out of the Toledo Express Airport, Hilfinger and retiring from Acklin Stamping. He was a member of the Army National Guard. George’s favorite thing to do was work on his corvettes, boats, and motorcycles. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and supporting his grandchildren at their sporting events.
George was preceded in death by the love of his life Mary Lou in 2015 after 59 years of marriage; in 2019 his daughter Deborah Newhouse passed away and his son-in-law Charles Newhouse in 2021. He is survived by his son Randy (Ann Hornstein) Bumbera; grandchildren, Candace (Guadalupe) Garcia, Crystal Newhouse, Randee Rae (Ryan) Mitchell, Casidy Bumbera, and Ryleah Bumbera; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Garcia, Enrique Cobian, IV “Hank”, Brantley Garcia, Rhett Mitchell, Caden Bumbera, Ryker Bumbera, a new great-granddaughter on-the-way, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 17, 2025 from 5 until 8 p.m. at Freck Funeral Chapel 1155 S Wynn Rd in Oregon, Ohio. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Ignatius Catholic Church 212 N. Stadium Rd. in Oregon, Ohio on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. where a visitation will be held one hour prior to Mass. Burial will follow in St. Ignatius Cemetery. Memorial contributions are appreciated to the Toledo Humane Society.
