George Cadena Sr., 71, a long time Hereford resident passed away peacefully at home on Monday, July 1, 2024. Funeral Service are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 5, 2024, at San Jose Catholic Church with Father David Contreras officiating, and a Graveside to follow at St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery. A visitation from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with the family, and a Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 4, 2024, at Parkside Chapel. Services have been endowed to Parkside Chapel Funeral Home.
George Cadena Sr. Was born on January 17, 1953, in Michigan to Jesus Jose Cadena and Paula Castillo Cadena. He married Nora Villalovos in 1995 lasting 29 beautiful years. George was a hard-working and generous man doing anything he could to help anybody. He was a loving Husband, Father, and the Best Grandpa to several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
George was known as a Trucker. He drove for New Horizon Trucking and continued with contract work for over 50 years. He loved spending quality time with his family, but also enjoyed working to support and provide for his family, and those he loved.
George is preceded in death by his parents Jesus Jose Cadena and Paula Castillo Cadena, his sisters Gloria Cuellar, and Martha Fuentes, his brothers Frank Cadena, Adolfo Cadena, and Jose Luis Cadena.
Those left to cherish George's memories are his wife Nora Cadena of Hereford, his children Crystal Cadena and wife Nancy of Hereford, Marisela Nañez and husband Porfirio of Hereford, Jesse Cadena of Hereford, Adolfo Cadena of Amarillo, James Lucero and wife Maria of Hereford, and Ronald Lucero of Hereford, siblings Adelina Luna and husband Juan of Hereford, Robert Cadena of Hereford, Freddy Cadena and wife Maria of California.Twenty-two grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. Several Nieces, Nephews, and cousins.
