George Arnold Cantor

George Arnold Cantor, age 89, died peacefully at his home on March 18, 2022 with his beloved wife Norma by his side. George was born in New York, New York in 1933 to Julius and Mary Cantor. He grew up in the Bronx with his parents, uncle Aaron, and sister Gloria.
George wanted to peruse a career in agriculture and enrolled in the AG curriculum at Farmingdale State College briefly before enlisting in the US Air Force. He loved the Air Force and some of his fondest work memories centered around his time as a crew member and Navigator/Weapon System Operator flying F89C Scorpion Interceptors. Upon leaving the Air Force he began a career in computer systems working for RCA, Sperry, Unisys and ultimately with the State of New Jersey. George was a family man, centering all of his activities around his family. He loved to downhill ski, kayak, road bike, dragon boat, and exercise.
George was preceded in death by his parents Julius and Mary Cantor, uncle Aaron Melkofsky, and sister Gloria Stern (Cantor). He is survived by his wife Norma Lorraine Cantor; his children Michael (Marcia) from Athens AL, Jeffrey (Cheree) from Ft Lauderdale FL, and Suzanne Cantor Baals from West Deptford NJ; his grandchildren Craig, Matthew and Daniel Cantor, Morgan Baals, Alec Cantor; his great grandson Knox Cantor.
Relatives and friends are invited to graveside services Tuesday, March 22nd beginning 12:00 noon at Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Williamstown, NJ. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org
