George J. Crowley born December 1, 1935 , deceased November 23, 2025. Born in Lynn MA to George A. Crowley and Elsie (Robichaud) Crowley. Life long Resident of Gardner, MA. 1954 graduate of Gardner High School. Married to Patricia (Salerno) Crowley for 67 years. Three children Michael deceased his wife Katherine Crowley, Kathleen Crowley and significant other Ricky Parker and Dean and his wife Jean Crowley. Three grandchildren Alex, Michaela and Marissa Crowley. Two sisters Eugenie Crowley and Elaine Kirwin deceased.

Army veteran serving from February 1955 to January 1957 with US Army company 93rd Combat Engineering Battalion and on-call reserve until January 1963.

Due to his immense love of jazz founded the the Jazz Club now known as the Metronome Club on Kendal Pond. Serving as the President and as the Treasurer for over 30 years.

One of his many passions was to travel with his wife Pat. They traveled to Switzerland, Germany, Australia , England, France (Paris twice) Poland, Belgium, Puerto Rico and a Caribbean cruise.

Another intense joy in his life was for over 60 years spending leisure time on Kendall Pond. He was deeply involved with the Kendall Pond Betterment Association as Treasurer. In addition, he spent many joyous years with his extended family and friends at the Lucia Family Trust camp, formerly known as the Italian Club, including over 30 years as the Treasurer.

He also enjoyed being a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles along with his Father. Recently serving as the oldest member. He was active in the roles of Treasurer and Manager.

Another joy and accomplishment was owning and operating George’s Pizza Pub with his wife from 1970 to 1978 in Union Square Gardner. He loved having his children, mother- in-law (Mary Salerno) and cousin (David Kymalainen) with him. Family was always a top priority.

He worked for and made friends during the many years he worked at the Gardner News. He also served the Gardner Community by working as the dog officer for many years.

George was also a lifelong Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. He was a Patriots season ticket holder since 1969. He was at Fenway when the Sox won the pennant in 1967. He made the Boston Globe and local papers in a picture reaching out touching the winning pitcher Jim Longborg. He also made into the club house using his Gardner News identification to meet the triple crown winner Carl Yastrzemski and other players. He also attended the first 2 Patriot Super Bowls in New Orleans. He was also there for the tuck rule call in which Adam Vinatieri kicked the game winning Field Goal in OT on their way to the first super bowl win

Please join family and friends at the Veterans Cemetery in Winchendon, MA 111 Glenallen ST December 17 at 1:00 pm with a Celebration of Life at the Metronome Club at 2:00 at 120 Kendall Pond Road West.
