George Cultra Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Klein Funeral Home - CyFair - Northwest on Jan. 12, 2026.
George McClave Cultra II, 82, passed away peacefully on January 10th in Houston, Texas, with his family by his side.

Born on October 19, 1943, in Amarillo, Texas, George lived a life defined by devotion-to his family, to his country, and to the values he held dear. He was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather whose steady presence and quiet strength shaped the lives of all who knew him.

George grew up in Amarillo with his older sister Dottie Luella and younger brother Jim. He graduated from Amarillo High in 1962.

George proudly served his country as a Vietnam veteran aboard the USS Porterfield, carrying with him throughout his life the discipline, courage, and camaraderie forged during those years. After returning home, he built a life filled with purpose and love.

For 57 wonderful years, George was married to the love of his life, Patty. Together they created a family rooted in loyalty, laughter, and deep affection. He is survived by Patty; their son Creed; Creed's wife, Kacey; and their daughter, Hollyn, who brought George immense joy as his cherished granddaughter.

George is preceded in death by his parents, Dr. George and Dorothy Cultra, whose memory he honored throughout his life.

Our family would like to gratefully acknowledge the kind and compassionate care provided by Michael E DeBakey Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center and St. Lukes Health-The Vintage Hospital.

A service celebrating George's life will be held at The Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, TX 77038. The family procession will begin in Lane 2 at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 22nd, followed by a chapel service at 2:15 PM.
