George worked as a skilled entrepreneur. He owned and operated several transmission repair shops throughout his career, beginning in New Jersey before moving to Radcliff, Kentucky, and finally retiring from the Savannah Transmission Repair Shop. He also proudly served his country for 12 years in the United States National Guard.
George had a deep love for the ocean and enjoyed traveling. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joann Dowdell. He was also preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his daughter, Tracy Hallmark, and four stepdaughters, Sue Wilson, Della Porter, Etta Ludwig, and Sandy Mullins. He also leaves behind several grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will miss him dearly.
