George L. Fields (Buck) departed his earthly life at Heritage Hall Rehabilitation Center on December 19, 2024. Buck was born on November 16, 1947 in Brunswick County to Mariah and Robert Fields Sr.
Buck attended Brunswick County School System. He drove trucks for Parrish Trucking for many years and also worked on the farm.
Buck played hardball for the Mets. He also enjoyed playing drums and guitar as a hobby.
George married Margaret Hite on July 1, 1973.
Buck was preceded in death by his parents Mariah and Robert Fields, Sr.; his daughter Kimberly Fields (Pinkey); sister Lois Ann Thrower; brothers William and Richard Fields.
He leaves to cherish his memory his long-term girlfriend Darlene Stith, two daughters Marsha (Prissy) and Marie (Rat), two sons George (Bubba Joe) and Eric (Scooter) all of Crewe, VA; five brothers Robert Fields Jr of Chesterfield, VA, James Fields (Wanda) of DC, Thomas Fields, John Nelson Fields (Carol) and Douglas Fields (Sandy) all of Richmond, VA; four sisters Doris Fields, Mary Sue Fields, Barbara Fields-Johnson and Theresa Fields all of Richmond, VA; thirty-three grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
